[Verse - no full drums - just bass drum]
Well, I [D] took a stroll on the old long walk
On a [D] day-I- [D/F#] ay-I- [G] ay
[Bm] met a little [A] girl and we [G] stopped to [D] talk
on a [Bm] grand soft [A] day-I- [D] ay

(drums in on G - snare pick up - DDG+SnareG+Snare)
[Riff A] - [D] And [D] I [G] ask [G] you, [D] friend, .............
 what's a [G] fella to [D] do
'Cause her [Bm] hair was [A] black and her [G] eyes were [D] blue
[Riff A] - And I [G] knew right [D] then........I'd be [G] takin' a [D] whirl
'Round the [Bm] Salthill [A] Prom with a [G] Galway [D] girl

And she [Bm] took me [A] up to her [G] flat down [D] town
Of a [Bm] grand soft [A] day-I-ay-I-a [D] y
[Riff A] - And I [G] ask you, [D] friend, .......what's a [G] fella to [D] do
'Cause her [Bm] hair was [A] black and her [G] eyes were [D] blue
So I [G] took her [D] hand and I [G] gave her a [D] twirl
And I [Bm] lost my [A] heart to a [G] Galway [D] girl

(drums back in)
[Riff A] - And I [G] ask you [D] now, tell me [G] what would you [D] do

Nice approach - when you want to imply G chord play melody on E string so by virtue of fretting
the open G rings - then want to imply D, move melody to B string that naturally mutes the G string
and the low D string rings more
With A just play chord down the neck
Also really helps to be in open D tuning

[Violin Line 2 - relative to capo - note you can add trills and hammer ons and pulloffs and sounds great
stick to right string though for each chord]

*mute with heel of hand whilst still playing snare

[Verse 1]
Do you remember
The 21st night of September?
Love was changin' the minds of pretenders
While chasin' the clouds away
Our hearts were ringin'
In the key that our souls were singin'
As we danced in the night, remember
How the stars stole the night away, oh, yeah
Hey, hey, hey

[Chorus]
Ba-dee-ya, say, do you remember?
Ba-dee-ya, dancin' in September
Ba-dee-ya, never was a cloudy day
Ba-du-da, ba-du-da, ba-du-da, ba-du
Ba-du-da, ba-du, ba-du-da, ba-du
Ba-du-da, ba-du, ba-du-da

[Verse 2]
My thoughts are with you
Holdin' hands with your heart to see you
Only blue talk and love, remember
How we knew love was here to stay
Now December
Found the love that we shared in September
Only blue talk and love, remember
The true love we share today
Hey, hey, hey

[Chorus]
Ba-dee-ya, say, do you remember?
Ba-dee-ya, dancin' in September
Ba-dee-ya, never was a cloudy day
There was a
Ba-dee-ya (dee-ya, dee-ya), say, do you remember?
Ba-dee-ya (dee-ya, dee-ya), dancin' in September
Ba-dee-ya (dee-ya, dee-ya), golden dreams were shiny days

[Verse 3]
The bell was ringin', oh, oh
Our souls were singin'
Do you remember never a cloudy day? Yow

[Chorus]
There was a
Ba-dee-ya (dee-ya, dee-ya), say, do you remember?
Ba-dee-ya (dee-ya, dee-ya), dancin' in September
Ba-dee-ya (dee-ya, dee-ya), never was a cloudy day
And we'll say
Ba-dee-ya (dee-ya, dee-ya), say, do you remember?
Ba-dee-ya (dee-ya, dee-ya), dancin' in September
Ba-dee-ya (dee ya, dee-ya), golden dreams were shiny days
Ba-dee-ya, dee-ya, dee-ya
Ba-dee-ya, dee-ya, dee-ya
Ba-dee-ya, dee-ya, dee-ya, dee-ya!
Ba-dee-ya, dee-ya, dee-ya
Ba-dee-ya, dee-ya, dee-ya
