[Verse 1 - Play intro keyboard riff for every Em]
[Em] She was more like a beauty queen, from a movie scene,
I said; don't mind, but what do you mean; I am the [Am] one?
Who will dance on the floor, in the [Em] round.
She said; I am the [Am] one, who will dance on the floor, in the [Em] round.

[Interlude]
Em - Opening keyboard riff

[Verse 2]
[Em] She told me her name was Billie Jean, as she caused a scene.
Then every head turned, with eyes that dreamed of being the [Am] one,
Who will dance on the floor, in the [Em] round.

[Interlude]
Em - Opening keyboard riff

[Pre-Chorus]
[C] People always told me; be [Em] careful what you do;
And don't [C] go around breaking young girl's [Em] hearts.
And [C] mother always told me; be [Em] careful of who you love;
And be [C] careful of what you do, 'cos the [B7] lie becomes the truth.

[Chorus 1- With Em play keyboard riff but let chords ring more]
[Em] Billie Jean is not my lover;
She's just a girl who, claims that I am the [Am] one.
But the kid is not my [Em] son.
She says; I am the [Am] one,
But the kid is not my [Em] son.

[Interlude]
Em - Opening keyboard riff

[Verse 3]
[Em] For forty days and forty nights, the law was on her side.
But who can stand, when she's in demand, her schemes and [Am] plans?
'Cos we danced on the floor, in the [Em] round.
[Em] So take my strong advice; [Am] just remember to always think twice.
([Em] Do think twice).

[Verse 4]
[Em] She told my baby we'd danced 'till three, then she looked a me,
Then showed a photo; my baby cried; his eyes looked like [Am] mine.
Go on dance on the floor, in the [Em] round, baby.

[Pre-chorus 2]
[C] People always told me; be [Em] careful what you do;
And don't [C] go around breaking young girl's [Em] hearts.
She [C] came and stood right by me; then the [Em] smell of sweet perfume.
This [C] happened much too soon; she [B7] called me to her room.

[Chorus 2]
[Em] Billie Jean is not my lover;
She's just a girl who, claims that I am the [Am] one.
But the kid is not my [Em] son.
She says; I am the [Am] one,
But the kid is not my [Em] son.

[Em] Billie Jean is not my lover;
She's just a girl who, claims that I am the [Am] one.
